You've just entered the primary nexus of contact for Columbus Townhall members. As an informal group of concerned citizens, we use this site to coordinate monthly meetings and political activities, to disseminate information, and to get to know each other.
Please remember, this is our forum, as in We the People. CTH Administrative personnel are not here to exercise any degree of control over what is or isn't said here. As adults, we all know how to behave ourselves, and we intuitively know that taking care of each other on this board can only lead to a strong sense of union. But if there is a general consensus among the board members that any particular posting is improper, we will take steps to remove it. Likewise, if any particular member is not acting within the conventions of proper human behavior, they will be banned from the site. So be a good neighbor and engage yourself in intelligent conversation!
But above all, enjoy your time with us! I expect that more than a few hard-and-fast friendships will be forged here.

Rep. Steve King from Iowa states in an interview with Glenn Beck
that he believes if people come in droves to the Capitol to see
their representative, that Nancy Pelosi and the Democrats will have
to capitulate and we can defeat this Health Care Bill. They would
like for people to go ahead and come up as soon as possible, but King says
it needs to reach a “crescendo” on Saturday at noon. He encourages
people to be respectful but to go see your Rep and ask them not to
vote for this HCR bill. If they get the requested permits, it sounds

Ron Paul, Judge Napolitano, and Freedom Watch Coming to OSU!
Freedom Watch with Judge Napolitano, Followed by a Speech
by Ron Paul
When: Monday, March 8th. Time: 7:00PM (doors open at 6:15pm) Where: Newport Music Hall, Columbus OH Cost: FREE and open to the public
It’s
time to take the tea party movement directly to Washington, D.C. Please
join thousands of local organizers and grassroots Americans from across
the country as we gather in our nation’s capital to deliver a message
to the politicians: Enough!
We’ve had enough of the out of
control spending, the bailouts, the growth of big government and the
soaring deficits. And we reject the future tax increases to pay for all
of this spending and debt down the road. We are gathering on 9-12-2009
to deliver our message in person that we’ve had enough!
Bring links to YouTube videos that you want to share. They can be
educational, political, entertaining, or just off-beat. Nothing graphic
or beyond an "R" rating.
If the turn out is large, we may have a time limit.
Conservative Movie Night: Expelled; No Intelligence Allowed
The Conservative Lecture series continues with a brief presentation on
"Big Numbers, Probability, and the Origin of Life" and then we will
watch the movie. We will then finish with an open discussion.
Are you interested in getting on your party's' Central committee?? Here is a chance to learn how!
Invitation to attend the “Return Integrity to Politics” Meet-Up
One
question is repeatedly raised every time we give an event, “what can we
do.” I think I have the answer to that question, and a way to focus
some of our energy to gain the greatest political bang for the buck.
Regardless
whether you are Republican, Democrat or Libertarian, I think we can all
agree our elected officials need to be held to the highest standard of
integrity. Unfortunately, a recent letter to the editor highlighted
just how far we are from reaching that goal. In this letter, Phil
Harmon (political insider turned whistleblower) exposes: 1) Political collusion between the parties 2) Election rigging/fixing 3) Nepotism 4) Corruption including judges and party officials 5) Voter disenfranchisement by robbing them of viable candidates and options
If
we really want to make a difference, the easiest and most direct route
is to take back the Central Committees of the parties. It only takes 5
signatures to get on the ballot, and often only takes a couple hundred
votes to win an election.
What? We will watch and discuss the documentary Indoctrinate U by Evan Coyne Maloney
"A
hard-hitting yet humorous expose of the breathtaking abuses of power in
higher ed. Evan Coyne Maloney's "Indoctrinate U" shows what you won't
see in the glossy marketing brochures of American colleges and
universities.
When unsuspecting students and
professors run afoul of the campus thought police, the results would
make for great comic farce--if real careers weren't at stake."
What? The Conservative Lecture series continued with a “debate” on The Flat Tax vs. The Fair Tax.
Our
current tax system is clearly the wrong way to go. Our friends John
Herrington and Bob Wagner will go head-to-head to discuss the merits
and drawbacks of each. We will end with a question and answer period
afterward.
The April 15th tea parties were a complete success! Best estimates place the crowd size at 7,500 people in Columbus alone. Success was just as great in hundreds of other cities across the country.
"Fun with Guns" day at the Delaware Wildlife Area Shooting Range! One of CTH's favorite events. Education, shooting and safe gun handling, pistol, Rifle and hand-thrown trap.
April 14: Crucial Conversations at the Worthington Library: "Green Revolution"
"Crucial Conversations" is a monthly open discussion of important issues held by the Worthington library system. This time, the topic is "the strategies and policies needed to make a significant 'green' change."
March 25: Dirk Thompson / Columbus Townhall Hunt For the Truth Lecture Series Event
The gathering was a resounding success! By all accounts, at least 800 people attended the gathering of citizens who are standing up to Washington on the afternoon of Friday, March 13th.
This is the beginning of a massive, grassroots movement to make our voices heard. Watch for news on our next meeting!
