Wow...that's quite a steep drop for a "record" amount of (human) CO2 in the atmosphere. I am sure there is a scientific reason for it....

Month to month weather fluctuations are statistical noise. They mean nothing.
Now, the ratio between month to month highs and lows over a period of say 30 years is important.
Pointing to one record low is moronic at best.

I assume that no one reads this blog.
I assume that no one reads this topic.
I assume that if I am wrong and someone does read this topic that he/she does not see the BIG ERROR I made in the post above in the reference to winter.
I assume that no one who reads this topic understands the error.
I admit the error -- that means that I accept the proposition that science in general, that physics, and that the physics of climate change is making steady advances in knowledge.
In short, I am a liberal.

Bingo!
Climate models go cold
Carbon warming too minor to be worth worrying about
By David Evans
The debate about global warming has reached ridiculous proportions and is full of micro-thin half-truths and misunderstandings. I am a scientist who was on the carbon gravy train, understands the evidence, was once an alarmist, but am now a skeptic. Watching this issue unfold has been amusing but, lately, worrying. This issue is tearing society apart, making fools out of our politicians.
Let’s set a few things straight.
The whole idea that carbon dioxide is the main cause of the recent global warming is based on a guess that was proved false by empirical evidence during the 1990s. But the gravy train was too big, with too many jobs, industries, trading profits, political careers, and the possibility of world government and total control riding on the outcome. So rather than admit they were wrong, the governments, and their tame climate scientists, now outrageously maintain the fiction that carbon dioxide is a dangerous pollutant.

Report: Marijuana causes global warming, uses 1% of U.S. electricity
By Steven E.F. Brown - San Francisco Business Times | Published: 7:17 AM 04/14/2011
People growing marijuana indoors use 1 percent of the U.S. electricity supply, and they create 17 million metric tons of carbon dioxide every year (not counting the smoke exhaled) according to a report by Evan Mills, an energy analyst at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory.
After medical pot use was made legal in California in 1996, Mills says, per-person residential electricity use in Humboldt County jumped 50 percent compared to other parts of the state.

Shocking...who would have guessed...?
Lobbyists who cleared 'Climategate' academics funded by taxpayers and the BBC
A shadowy lobby group which pushes the case that global warming is a real threat is being funded by the taxpayer and assisted by the BBC.
By Jason Lewis, Investigations Editor
The little-known not-for-profit company works behind the scenes at international conferences to further its aims.
One of its key supporters headed the official investigation into the so-called "Climategate emails", producing a report which cleared experts of deliberately attempting to skew scientific results to confirm that global warming was a real threat.
Another scientific expert linked to the group came forward to praise a second independent investigation into the Climategate affair which also exonerated researchers.
Set up with the backing of Tony Blair, then the Prime Minister, and run by a group of British MPs and peers the organisation, Globe International, started life as an All Party Group based in the House of Commons.
It is now run as an international climate change lobbying group flying its supporters and experts club class to international summits to push its agenda. Last year, it said, it spent around £500,000 flying its supporters to these meetings.

New NASA Data Blow Gaping Hole In Global Warming Alarmism
http://news.yahoo.com/nasa-data-blow-gaping-hold-global-warming-alarmism-192334971.html
Quote
NASA satellite data from the years 2000 through 2011 show the Earth's atmosphere is allowing far more heat to be released into space than alarmist computer models have predicted, reports a new study in the peer-reviewed science journal Remote Sensing. The study indicates far less future global warming will occur than United Nations computer models have predicted, and supports prior studies indicating increases in atmospheric carbon dioxide trap far less heat than alarmists have claimed.
[...]
Quote
When objective NASA satellite data, reported in a peer-reviewed scientific journal, show a "huge discrepancy" between alarmist climate models and real-world facts, climate scientists, the media and our elected officials would be wise to take notice. Whether or not they do so will tell us a great deal about how honest the purveyors of global warming alarmism truly are.

Peter,
You probably aren't interested in what actual climate scientists think about this paper by Spencer.
It appears that the paper has no scientific merit.
It was published in a geography journal -- but since it doesn't ordinarily publish on climate science it is quite likely that no one there was qualified to judge the scientific merit of the article.
It probably was not up to the standards of actual climate science journals.
If you're interested in investigating the mistakes that an actual climate scientist found in it try this link:

University of Texas Physicist and climate scientist Andrew Dressler writes:
...His [Roy Spencer's] paper is not really intended for other scientists, since they do not take him seriously anymore (he’s been wrong too many times). Rather, he’s writing his papers for Fox News, the editorial board of the Wall St. Journal, Congressional staffers, and the blogs. These are his audience and the people for whom this research is actually useful — in stopping policies to reduce GHG emissions — which is what Roy wants.
NASA climatologist Gavin Schmidt said of the paper’s findings:
“If you want to do a story then write one pointing to the ridiculousness of people jumping onto every random press release as if well-established science gets dismissed on a dime,” Schmidt said. “Climate sensitivity is not constrained by the last two decades of imperfect satellite data, but rather the paleoclimate record.”

Remember when the doofi were announcing that there would be no more snow by 2010?
Brrr-ace yourselves! Britain to shiver in -20C in WEEKS as councils stockpile extra grit
1.4million tonnes of salt has been ordered this year
Snow already falling in Scotland
Temperatures in London today are 16.5C lower than last week
By Emily Allen
Britain is just weeks away from being in the grip of temperatures as low as -20C, forecasters have predicted.
Parts of Britain already saw snow this week, with two inches falling in the Cairngorms in Scotland.
The rest of Britain is being warned to brace itself for wintry conditions and falling snow from the beginning of November.
And it looks like the colder weather is already on its way - as temperatures today plunged in certain areas to just 8C - a staggering 21.5C below last weekend's record highs - with the wind chill making it feel decidedly colder.
