Wasserman and Fitrakis expose Leftist's agenda
Richard Nixon once said of Alger Hiss and fellow Leftists -- if Americans knew what they really believed, the public would boil them in oil." I witnessed the true meaning of this comment when I attended a presentation by Bob Fitrakis and Harvey Wasserman, two local Leftist leaders and columnists for "The Free Press," at the Columbus Metropolitan Library. During the two hour rant against President George Bush and the Republicans the Duo (Wasserman and Fitrakis) boldly made claims that other more polished politicians would have known to keep secret. While there were too many to cover in this single letter, I will focus on some of the most outrageous.
Claim: The Duo claimed that the 2000 election was fixed, and that massive voting fraud occurred in Florida, leading to the election of President Bush. A large part of the blame was placed on the voting machines produced by Diebold. <_<
Rebuttal: One of the main responsibilities of the POTUS is to ensure safe and fair elections. President Clinton and VP Al Gore were in power and responsible for fulfilling that responsibility during that 2000 campaign. If there were problems with the Diebold machine, they should never have been approved in the first place. If in fact the election was able to be fixed by a party that was not in power at the time, it proves more the incompetence of the leader at the time than anything. In reality, many vote recounts occurred after the election and every credible result showed President Bush the legitimate winner. No credible major re-counts showed Al Gore the winner. If anything the major media outlets calling the state of Florida for Al Gore BEFORE the polls closed proves that irregularities happened on both sides, and every American saw and witnessed that event, unlike the unsubstantiated claims of a hacked computer voting system. AL Gore wouldn't have been demanding a SELECTIVE recount of only highly Democratic voters had he truly believed he had won Florida.
Claim: Republicans suppressed votes by Democrats by preventing felons from voting.
Rebuttal: My jaw dropped at this claim. Someone was actually advertising that felons are a significant Democratic constituency. He was literally saying that because criminals vote overwhelmingly for Democrats, preventing criminals from voting cost Al Gore the election. He went on to argue that many states up North, including Ohio, allow convicted felons to vote, and that felons should be allowed to vote after they are released from prison. While that may be a fair topic for debate, the unabashed acceptance, approval, and recognition that criminals overwhelmingly vote Democratic was astonishing. Doesn't it bother him that criminals overwhelmingly favor Democrats? Does he really want to be promoting an agenda that appeals to criminals? Do we really want the fate of this great nations being charted by criminal votes? This is the equivalent of the Republican Party openly courting the vote of the KKK, or some other extremist group. Wouldn't a reasonable person after finding that criminals overwhelming support an agenda; reconsider that agenda? Just what shared values, beliefs, experiences, world views and goals do Criminals share with Democrats? A lot can be said by the company you keep.
Claim: To counter the blocking of the felon votes, Bill Clinton increased immigration to Florida by about 100,000.
Rebuttal: This was the second jaw dropper. President Clinton, in order to influence the outcome of the election, actually manipulated immigration policies to improve the Democrat's chances in Florida. Once again, because immigrants new to this country are unfamiliar with our political process and whose vote is easily influenced, tend to vote overwhelmingly Democratic. Especially when the bus showing up to take you to the polls has a "Vote Gore" sign on its side, and is filled with other recent immigrants all holding Democratic voting guides. More importantly, by allowing more immigrants into this country, President Clinton most likely cost some Americans their jobs, or at least increased the welfare burden in Florida. Either way, immigration should not be used as a tool for manipulating elections. It is pretty telling that Democrats can't count on American votes to win elections, and must resort to importing voters to win. Once again, do the Democrats really think the course of this great Nation should be charted by people from other countries? Don't they find this kind of election tampering disturbing?
Most frightening however was the matter-of-fact manner in which these topics were discussed. There were about 80 people in the meeting, and no one other than a few members of ColumbusTownHall.com, seemed troubled by these comments. It was as if the party regulars simply blindly supported and unquestionably accepted the speaker's comments. The message was clear, "the ends justifies the means." As long as the actions favored the Democrats, they were expectable. This was my first experience in attending a hard core Leftist political rally, and I found it something every American should experience. The extreme fanaticism and blind faith ideology practiced in these Leftist indoctrination and re-education meetings/camps, combined with the shocking display of Orwellian group-think, is something every American should witness before they cast another vote. The extent to which the Left will resort to gain and hold power is truly frightening.

VERY well done, snowflake! I especially found your paragraph regarding the felon vote being part of the left's base to be very enlightening. Seems like most people would just scratch their heads at this and quietly take a couple steps to the right.
Kudos, again!

Hey Now SnowFlake:
Good job
The W/F booksigning was indeed an eye opener. Picture this:two ultra-leftwing nuts conspire to publish a book and host a signing on a cold January night. One would expect to see a hlf dozen or so malcontents show up. ...Except about 80 people showed(74 lefties and 6 conservatives to inventory the mess). With pitchforks in hand the tone of the meeting: nominate anyone or anything that can beat Bush. W/F are dangerous ...as I believe they actually believe their own BS.

I agree with your assertion that Bob Fitrakis is a local "leftist leader." However, to connect him and most of his activist admirers to the Democratic Party is incorrect. Fitrakis has long been a part of the Green Party and other third parties. His recent support of Dennis Kucinich is based on the fact that many Green Party/Naderites have embraced Kucinich for whatever reason.
If you listen closely, you will notice that Fitrakis rails against the Democratic Party establishment similar to how he does against the Republican Party establishment. In his mind, there are little or no differences between the two major U.S. political parties. Clearly, Democrats recognize that people like Bob Fitrakis and Dennis Kucinich are radically left. Thus, Fitrakis was handed a decisive defeat for Columbus School Board and Kucinich has only been receiving one percent of recent Democratic primary votes as well as similar low numbers in polls of likely Democratic voters.
To insinuate that Fitrakis and his audience represent Democratic "party regulars" is extremely misleading and in fact it is flat false. In principle, I agree with your statement related to a Fitrakis event being "extreme fanaticism and blind faith ideology practiced in these Leftist indoctrination and re-education meetings/camps, combined with the shocking display of Orwellian group-think" However, I strongly disagree that this even remotely represents the core values and/or practices of the Democratic Party.
Fortunately, being boiled in oil for excercising constitutional rights to Freedom of Expression does not take place in the United States of America. However, it would seem that because of Nixon's lies related to the Watergate break-in and his eventual resignation that the late President Nixon figuratively got "boiled in his own hot oil."
You should truly re-examine your statements about Clinton/Gore bringing in immigrants to vote for Democratic candidates. Even if what you say is true, in some small way, how is Bush's recent "temporary" worker legislation related to previously illegal alien foreign workers much different?
In closing, you make alot of good points about lefties like Fitrakis. But, these types are almost always NOT Democrats. Your insinuation that someone should be boiled in oil for freely expressing themself is disturbing. But worse is your unsound and unfair assessment of immigration only benefitting the Democrats. I'm sure Bush is counting on a few Latino votes after giving illegal immigrants a free pass to stay here and take jobs away from Americans for the next three years. Also, I'm sure business people who use cheap illegal labor will appreciate three years of being able to FINALLY hire them LEGALLY for a little while.

First, I want to say welcome Zig Zag. It is a pleasure to have you on board. Now, that is probably the last nice thing I have to say to you, so I hope you aren't easily offended

Zig Zag (ZZ) regardless of thier party affiliation, they spend 2 hours trashing Bush, and glorifying the left, and avoiding any legitimate criticism of FDR or Clinton. If you don't remember, Bill Clinton never got UN approval to bomb Bosina, and yet this was never mentioned. FDR threw thousands of Japanese into internment camps, and yet he failed to mention this when he was claiming Bush was the worst war time president for violating civil rights

Did we attend the same meeting? Name me one example?

To insinuate that Fitrakis and his audience represent Democratic "party regulars" is extremely misleading and in fact it is flat false.
Why then was the 2000 Election his main topic, and are all his books directed at Republicans? Why was he talking as if Al Gore should have won, and why is he motivating people to right that wrong? He certaintly wasn't distorting the truth and presenting innacurate and misleading facts to help George get reelected.

Watergate break-in and his eventual resignation that the late President Nixon figuratively got "boiled in his own hot oil."
Yep, but both parties drove him out.

One is a responsible approach to a difficult situation. One is an attempt to manipulate an election. Bush is doing this in order to keep track of people entering this Country for National Security issues, I also don't think they are allowed to vote. BTW, I didn't make that claim, Fritrakis did, and I bet he has it documented in his book, because he certainly didn't shy away from talking about it. Next time he is on WOSU, why don't you call and ask him to explain his position. Next time however I will bring a recorder, and we will publish the talk, if that is legal.

Now, clearly I was having a bit of fun here. Remember Alec Baldwin saying Henry Hyde and his family should be shot? Of that other Jackass on his late night talkshow showing a target on Bush. BTW, as my posting began, I and we welcome free speech, and debating. I love nothing more than debating the issues. As far as the comment though, had someone said if people knew what Hitler's or Osama's hidden agenda was that they would boil them in oil, I wouldn't read that an a affront to free speach, I would simply view that as just punishment for criminal acts intended or perpretrated. If I would say if people knew what the KKK was up to, they would burn them in oil, how is that anti free speech? It is simply anti violent and criminal acts.

Sorry, that won't work in this Forum. The plan clearly states, JOBS NO OTHER AMERICAN WAS WILLING TO TAKE. That is why I called it a responsible approact to a tough situation. Having your facts straight in these Forums is manditory.
Quote
Also, I'm sure business people who use cheap illegal labor will appreciate three years of being able to FINALLY hire them LEGALLY for a little while.
Once again, that is why a call it a responsible Win Win Solution.
In all seriousness, thanks for the response, and keep posting.

I see
So its OK for you to spin something in your manner and call it "straight facts" but anybody who has an opposing or divergent view should be "boiled in oil."
That's simply ignorant and gives me one more reason to regret that I voted for Bush in 2000. I probably won't voter for him again. But, that doesn't make me liberal. Instead it makes me an intelligent moderate swing voter.
Bush's irresponsibility related to the handling of the Iraqi war/occupation and international relations failures as well as his total disregard for fiscal prudence should be serious reasons for conservatives to question their support of Bush.
If Bush can't win over centrist voters like me, he simply ain't gonna be able to win a second term. However, Bush may have a shot at getting my vote if Howard Dean figures out a way to revive himself to win the Democratic nomination. But any of the remaining top three (Kerry, Clark and Edwards) already stand on higher ground than Bush can ever aspire to be able to reach.

No, as I said. I have nothing against them saying it, I have a problem with their agenda. I have no problem with W&F saying what they said, I have a problem with what they support doing or what has been done. I don't have a problem with them saying Bill Clinton tried to get felons to vote, I have a problem with the act of Bill Clinton actively pursueing policies to allow felons to tip the vote. I have no problem with prople talking about what Hitler did, I have a real problem with what Hitler actually did. Talk and action are two different things.

You must be deliberately misunderstainding or misprepresenting my position. I am opposed to the actions, " what they really believed" or intend to do, this has nothing to do with freedom of speech. If people knew Ted Bundy was going to eat children, they would want to boil them is oil. If people knew Bill Clinton was trying to sway the vote using felons and manipulating immigration laws, they would want to figuratively boil in in oil at the voting booths. No matter how you spin it, the quotes don't support your claim or misrepresention.

Reasonable people disagree on this issue. IMHO, after 9/11 and with the intel he got from Bill Clinton, it would have been derilection of duty for him not to have acted. Bill Clinton himself just the other day claimed He and Tony Blair blew up Saddams WMDs, but had no way to verify that he got them all. We went to war in Bosina w/o UN approval for a lot less that what Iraq represented. Where was the outrage about Bosnia? 4 or 5000 in mass graves? Iraq has 400,000, hasd started 2 wars. Now there will soon me a democracy in the heart of the middle east, Iran is allowing inspectors, Korea is back at the table, Lybia cried Uncle, people are smiling in Iraq, Saddam in behind bars. BTW, we don't know where Jimmy Hoffa is, that doesn't mean he isn't dead. Iraq is a sandbox the size of California. Anthrax could all be hidden in a singel tractor trailer hidden in a dune, or shipped to Syria. Do you really believe every intellegence agency in the entire world, including the UN itself and France, could be wrong? I find it much more plausable that he simply got rid of them in time, hid them well, or shiped htem to Syria. Facts are, HE USED THEM ON HIS OWN PEOPLE. Bill Clinton claims he bombed them.

I agree, but being pissed off that the US liberalted all those people in Iraq and Afganistan is a pretty sorry agenda to base one's vote. We now will have a very strong alis in the heart of teh middle east, and it most likely will start an domino affect, forcing the democritization of other countries. Freedom will soon rule in the middle east.

Bill Clinton
wants to allow this man to vote. This is one of the felons Bill Clinton wanted to allow to vote in Florida, and one of his Liberal Judges allowed him to be on the streets.
Police said
Joseph P. Smith
told a witness that he had
kidnapped and killed Carlie,
and authorities used that information to find the
sixth-grader's body
a few miles from the carwash.
http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,110622,00.html
A felonious assault on voting rights
Bill Clinton
saved the relaxing and retiring for after the end of his official term; he used his last days as president to sign executive orders, grant pardons, and
push legislation
he wouldn't get the chance to pass,
including the restoration of felon voting rights.
Clinton highlighted the problems in Florida
when he spoke to the mayors. "One of the big controversies in the
recent election in Florida was the review of people to see if they had criminal records, which disabled them from voting,"
http://salt.claretianpubs.org/sjnews/2001/...2/sjn0102c.html
Smith has been arrested at least 13 times in Florida since 1993.
He served 17 months in prison
in 2001 and 2002 for heroin possession and prescription drug fraud. Eight days after he got out, he was arrested for cocaine possession and
placed on probation for three years
. He also got
probation for aggravated battery
in 1993 and heroin charges in 1999.
A state correction official, Joe Papy, said that a probation officer had asked a judge on Dec. 30 to declare Smith in
violation of his probation
because he had not paid all his fines and court costs.

Girl's family wants to know why suspect was free
SARASOTA, Florida (AP) -- For the better part of a decade, the man suspected of killing an 11-year-old girl whose abduction was caught on videotape had been under the supervision of Florida's criminal justice system. But despite his many brushes with the law, Joseph P. Smith never spent long behind bars.
