The Other Paper
August 26-September 1, 2004

Letters to the Editor

Shame on Dan Williamson for ridiculing the lineup of bands appearing on behalf of John Kerry at the Columbus Vote for Change concert ("At least we didn't get Jackson Browne," Aug. 19).
MoveOn.org deserves credit for booking performers like Johnny Cougar and Bruce Springsteen, who reflect the values and image of the Democratic presidential ticket. With it being state fair season and all, you've really got to scrape the bottom of the barrel to book acts as old, phony, out-of-touch and filthy rich as the candidate himself.
I mean, if Democrats feel that Columbus deserves a headliner who disguises himself with hair dye, Botox, and worn-out, working-class rhetoric, far be it from me to point out the fact that he is really a multi-millionaire front man for a group that stopped being relevant in the early '80s.

Robert Dwightman

[now Robert, in that last paragraph were you referring to Bruce Springsteen or to John Kerry?  Wink  ]

Ignore

Bravo, now this is what CTH is all about. Control the message, and shape the debate. This will give some liberals heartburn. Prepard to be flamed in upcoming editions however, but they will only provide a response which is never as influential at the original.
