More bad news for the Environmental Junk Scientists

This has been a year many environmentalists would choose to forget. Over the last year the ozone hole reached a record size, twenty years AFTER the banning of CFCs. It appears they had their cause and effect backwards. The Spotted Owl continues to disappear. Not because of logging but because of Mother Nature herself and the more hardy bard owl.  Once again, cause and effect problems. The Segway was recalled for a software problem. Elf and Alf have associated their cause with extremist terrorism. And now, someone has actually applied common sense to the Global Warming argument and determined that the sun is the likely cause. No duh!! Anyone whoever watched a sun rise on a cold morning could have deduced that. Imagine that, what's past is prologue. These geniuses actually concluded that what caused global warming in the past, is also the likely cause of Global Warming today. They needed a Ph.D. to reach that conclusion? More interesting however is that climatological records show that historically whenever the atmospheric level of CO2 reached 290 ppm or above it was inevitably followed by an ice age. This proves the Global Warming Cult members have their cause and effect backwards. If increased CO2 caused Global Warming you would first observe an elevation in atmospheric CO2, and then a rise in atmospheric temperature. In fact it is just the opposite. Elevated CO2 levels precede ice ages, not warming periods.   Worst of all however is that the normal climate for the earth is an ice age, and unless you enjoy living on a glacier, we should do everything possible to extend this current warming period. The climate cycle is usually 100,000 years of ice age, followed by 10,000 years of warming. It is currently estimated that we are between 10,800 and 13,000 years into the current warming period with an atmospheric CO2 level of 362 and climbing, making us over due for the start of another ice age. The environmentalists of the 1970's were right, there is a coming ice age. Considering that the odds are far greater that we are entering a period of cooling then continued warming, America should be more focused on finding new energy sources to heat our homes in the future then trying to stop global warming. That is of course unless you want to live in an igloo and enjoy year round skiing.

Remember the ozone hole?

Antarctica may heat up dramatically as ozone hole repairs, warn scientists

As blanket of ozone over southern pole seals up, temperatures on continent could soar by 3C, increasing sea level rise by 1.4m

The hole in the Earth's ozone layer has shielded Antarctica from the worst effects of global warming until now, according to the most comprehensive review to date of the state of the Antarctic climate. But scientists warned that as the hole closes up in the next few decades, temperatures on the continent could rise by around 3C on average, with melting ice contributing to a global sea-level increases of up to 1.4m.

The western Antarctic peninsula has seen rapid ice loss as the world has warmed, but other parts of the continent have paradoxically been cooling, with a 10% increase in ice in the seas around the region in recent decades. Many climate change sceptics have used the Antarctic cooling as evidence against global warming.

But John Turner of the British Antarctic Survey said scientists are now "very confident" that the anomaly had caused by the ozone hole above Antarctica. "We knew that, when we took away this blanket of ozone, we would have more ultra-violet radiation. But we didn't realise the extent to which it would change the atmospheric circulation of the Antarctic."

I thought the Ozone hole was supposed to be a bad thing Huh  Maybe on Earth Day, everyone should stand outside and spray aerosol cans to save the polar bears Grin

There are no polar bears in Antartica. Repairing the ozone layer in addition to preventing heat from escaping will protect penguins and seals from getting sunburned. That of course is a good thing Grin
