Coleman campaign advisers have heavyweight resumes

Columbus Dispatch October 6, 2005

Columbus Mayor Michael B. Coleman is tapping some highpowered help from national Democrats in his bid to become governor next year.
Coleman unveiled his team of campaign advisers for reporters yesterday:

• Craig T. Smith, campaign general consultant. He was campaign manager for Vice President Al Gore’s run for president in 2000 and served as deputy White House political director for President Clinton.

• Celinda Lake, pollster. She has worked for candidates including Sens. Barbara Mikulski, D-Md., Mary Landrieu, D-La., and Debbie Stabenow, D-Mich., as well as Govs. Janet Napolitano, of Arizona, and Bob Wise, of West Virginia.

• Marius Penczner, media consultant. He produced campaign advertising for Sen. John Edwards’ presidential primaryelection campaign last year, and his other clients included the Gore campaign in 2000 and Clinton/Gore in 1996.

• Dannette Palmore, political consultant. She is the former legislative and community liaison to Coleman when he was president of the City Council. Palmore also served as national deputy director of Jesse Jackson’s 1988 presidential campaign.
The consultants said they were attracted to the race because they believe Coleman is a strong candidate and because the 2006 Ohio governor’s race will be watched nationally as both parties prepare for the 2008 presidential election.
"There are a handful of highprofile races (in 2006), and this is one of them,’’ Smith said.

He's going to need all the help he can get.

I sense that liberal Democrats may be upset that "conservative" Strickland may win.

Golly gee, I bet Ken is shaking in his boots because of all this "high-powered help" Coleman's lined up.

Let me see here....

Quote
• Craig T. Smith, campaign general consultant. He was campaign manager for Vice President Al Gore’s run for president in 2000 and served as deputy White House political director for President Clinton.

Gore lost, didn't he?

Quote
• Celinda Lake, pollster. She has worked for candidates including Sens. Barbara Mikulski, D-Md., Mary Landrieu, D-La., and Debbie Stabenow, D-Mich., as well as Govs. Janet Napolitano, of Arizona, and Bob Wise, of West Virginia.

Big deal!   The Demo-Nazi's always run based on what the polls say, not what their convictions lead them to do.

Quote
• Marius Penczner, media consultant. He produced campaign advertising for Sen. John Edwards’ presidential primaryelection campaign last year, and his other clients included the Gore campaign in 2000 and Clinton/Gore in 1996.

Now if memory serves me right, didn't Edwards lose too?

Quote
• Dannette Palmore, political consultant. She is the former legislative and community liaison to Coleman when he was president of the City Council. Palmore also served as national deputy director of Jesse Jackson’s 1988 presidential campaign.

Now if memory serves me right, Jackson lost as well, right?

What a stellar group of advisors!    Sure seems to me that Coleman's gathered some really top-notch people around him allright!      [/size]
