Speaking of guns... there is some talk of a Fun With Guns Day on Saturday, April 8 at Blackwing Shooting Center (blackwingsc.com).  More information will follow.  If there is some interest, respond to this post.

TB, count me in.
We can discuss all our secrets at that event. You know no liberal would show up to such an event.

It reminds me of those tricky college Republicans at Denison, who held the Coulter event in a church.  The liberals outnumbered us 10 to 1, think how bad the ratio would be if it had been held in a general purpose building. 20 to 1?

Counter I believe that if the event had a little bit of hang time to it that it would be a close 50/50.

I'm interested. Don't do skeet however, at least not for a very, very long time.

I've visited the place once, didn't shoot. Got the impression that they are setup a lot like the New Albany range indoors. Do they had a caliber limit on the 25 yard range?

Anyone up for pistols & offhand rifle shooting? I don't do fancy, but I have a few old military surplus in .308, 8mm and 7.62x54R that do OK with open sights.

Bit off topic, but did anyone see Grizzly Man? Story line is liberal nutcase believes Grizzly bears need him for protection so he decides to live with the 1 ton grizzly bears. You can write how this story ends. The best part about the movie is a part when they read some conservative "hate mail." There are some pretty funny conservatives out there, and what a liberal calls "hate mail" is some pretty funny sarcasm. It is currently showing on the Discovery Channel. It provides unbelievable insight into the mind of a liberal.

Grizzly Man

Plot Outline: A devastating and heartrending take on grizzly bear activists Timothy Treadwell and Amie Huguenard, who were killed in October of 2003 while living among grizzlies in Alaska

Blood Brothers
A bear expert's risky research ends in disaster. Should anybody get so close to grizzlies?
http://outside.away.com/outside/news/20040...brothers_1.html

Treadwell's family was in shock over the death.

"I was dumbfounded, ready to fall through the floor," said his father, Valentin Dexter, who lives in Pompano Beach, Fla.

That it does!

I don't know how anyone else stands on this guy, and I don't wish to offend, but Timothy Treadwell once said that he "would be honored to end up in bear scat”.

To me this says he had some serious mental issues, and I consider the film a suicide note. It's all the more sad because he took his girlfriend and two bears with him.

It's kind of funny because Mrs Tweet & I were just discussing the chimp research deal that's going on @ OSU.

Folks these are wild animals. I understand the situation w/the chimps & my heart goes out to them. From what has surfaced this morning OSU has bore a majority of funding for this program and the dear researcher hadn't secured funding for another time period. Never mind the small issue one of these chimps recently took part of a young lady's fingers off.

For anyone to believe they're actually safe amongest especially grizzley's of all bears and has done even the smallest amount of true reseach knows it's a highly dangerous situation to put yourself in.

We've a friend who has a big cat sanctuary (cougars, foxes & lynxs) who has even made comment that for even as much as they have come to have a close comfortable relationship w/these animals they understand how dangerous these animals can be.

I've been to the crocodile farms in Singapore, having listened to the cougars eat the bone-in chicken breasts reminded me of those huge crocodiles snapping mouths shutting down their food.

I heard about this long ago and I refuse to even watch a second of the show. It's another liberal case of "humans bad wild animals good", I'll agree he had some extreme mental issues that hadn't been treated properly.
