By the way, Republicans have chosen an insurance lobbyist as their candidate to the Ohio House District 21 seat to be vacated by Linda Reidelbach.
I say it's time to get behind one of our CTH members. Some of you know him as Shadow there are others of us who have come to know him as Dr. Otto Marxist. I'm willing to help him get signatures to be on the ballot to run against the hand picked republican insurance lobbyist.
I'm sure we could count Taavi Dr. Otto's new found friend and the WEA and other education associations in the surrounding communities. This would be the chance of a life time for him to get his many ideas we've read here on CTH out into the public and that he could remind all the perspective voters the current political climate in Ohio is their fault because they voted for these Republicans.
Come on Shadow it's time to stick it out there with all of your fantastic ideas and run with them.

Shadow,
Shadow there are really extremely easy methods of raising that $150,000, your friends would be able to help you make that up in no time flat.

Yeah I know. Be friends with Noe (oops too late) or maybe Abramoff (oops to late there also) or maybe Tom DeLay (oops wrong party) or maybe an energy company PAC (oops again wrong party) so, I will pass.

I don't really know that being known as a friend of teacher unions is much better. It would be nice to see a full disclosure of the amount of money that goes into local school levy campaigns from the national level of the education associations.

Shadow:
Not for levy campaigns. The secretary of state web site has campaign finance reports for statewide campaigns. The Franklin County Board of Elections has taken the initiative to place campaign finance reports for *county* wide campaigns on their website, but this will only give you the commissioners race, clerks race and judgeships - still, very interesting information. With a little encouragement, they might be pursuaded to put campaign finance reports from all races on line.
If you want to know who contributes to school levy campaigns and school board campaigns, you can go down to the board of elections and read the reports for free, or copy them for a small fee (pennies per page).
