With 5 weeks or so to go to the Republican primary election,we the electorate should start reflecting on the almost 12 year record of Mike DeWine. Just what is Senator Mike DeWine all about and how do we measure his job performance. Is it in Ohio's best best interest to return him as a candidate to face off in November against Sherrod Brown and ultimately back to that elite club of legislators?
Well ...lot a questions there but lets try and answer these and others that may arise as we travel down this road over the next few weeks. To help us along the "lets get educated road" I've linked to the Senator's new campaign website and a blog site the Senator has just set up.Click below and you may want to earmark:
    My Webpage-DeWines New campaign website

My Webpage-DeWines campaign blog site(openmike)

Lets get started. With information from the Senators own campaign web site (clicking on endorsements) we learn that the Ohio GOP and the county chairs of the counties with the major metro areas(Franklin,Cuyahoga,Hamilton,Summit) have endorsed DeWine. No surprises here. I might point out that most of these counties went "Blue" in '04 presidential election. The rural counties that saved the "bacon" for President Bush and the Ohio GOP are NOT falling in behind supporting Senator DeWine. I might as well get it over and state clearly my position with regards to sending Mike DeWine back to the US Senate.  I strongly urge the voters to replace the Senator with new "blood"...new "vision" and will detail this reasoning in subsequent postings. But please chip in your thoughts and ideas also.

Potential senate candidates that have on their agenda to participate in changing voting laws with legislation instead of the required amendments need not apply.

AAH  Shadow:
Replace Senator DeWine YES.....Most emphatically YES.  Replace him in this May's Republican primary with a conservative. My choice is Bill Pierce...37 year resident of Cincinnati...a person who has been a "career citizen" earning his merit raises in the private sector as a professional engineer ***a businessman: owning/operating a consulting engineers firm here in OHIO ***last several years as an educator teaching math in parochial school/local college in area.
DeWine on the other hand has been on the public dole since graduating from college.... a "career legislator" and a mediocre one at that.More on this later.I must state for the record that DeWines career politician component is the least troubling  in his resume....it is possible to get a quality career politican.DeWine IS NOT that . The facts are the facts. PreView tid Bits: Ever hear anything from DeWine on illegal immigration? How about sticking up for President Bush on tax cuts ..shoot... awhole bunch of areas of non-support to our President.More to follow.

DEWINES NEW CAMPAIGN WEBSITE

In keeping with DeWine's insulting campaign style of "small talk" and patronizing condescension He offers up his Big accomplishments on arcane legislation doing something for the "Chillrens" and....lets not forget that big time concern"Fran DeWine's Family Favorites" cookbook recipes. If you like this Clintonesque style of addressing the serious issues of the day then by all means vote for the guy.If you think we the residents of Ohio deserve better....Lets do the right thing and pull the lever for Pierce.

I know you would like to know.  But, the vote is supposed to be secret and since some know who I am I am not going to tell.  Liable to find its way into the wrong files

Shadow:
That's OK....I knew what the answer was even before I posted the request !.This is where DeWine is foolish and his support of liberal issues is somewhat symptomatic of naive lefties. No amount of support for left wing causes, i.e. gun control, environmental wackoism just to name a couple will ever be enough to earn the LEFT's support in an election. But I tell you honestly(not afraid to admit for whom I will be voting)DeWines left-wing support has earned my vote for a new face from the Republican Party...and if DeWine survives the primary I will abstain from voting in the senate race this fall against Brown. Ohio may be a lost cause because of the high degree of RINOISM in the state. Shadow, atleast be proud of your Brown vote if you can't be brave.

Baby-Steppin RINOS in the ELEPHANT Grass :

A phenomenon that occurs around election season is those "girlie-man" republican incumbants(aka RINOS) that love left-wing issues all term long will now migrate, as sure as swarming herds of wildebeasts, to cover in the "elephant" grass.Metaphorically speaking the Elephant grass is were Republicans..usually conservative Republicans reside. This is exactly what Senator Dewine is doing. The senate is in session on average 95-105 days per year......Where is Mike Dewine when the Senate is out of session like right now(Dewine down in Florida watchin a ball game)?more importantly where has the senator been for the last 1,760 days that the senate has been out of session.I haven't seen him in my "hood".He wouldn't even attend the Meet the candidates forum sponsored by this website. But now hes out and about in diners, and church potlick dinners I sense more for photo ops to place on his website than any sincere effort to be with the constitutents.Lastly,DeWine has a penchant for stayin away from the really important big issues and immersing himself in "baby-step"issues...legislation for the Chillren and other "soft" fuzzy-feel-good concerns. YEP...its political season and the RINOS are Baby-steppin in the elephant grass.

In todays Dispatch a piece by J.Tory underscores the Dewine campaign "strateegery"....play the "CHILLREN" card in his first TV commercial of this season on Child protection legislation. Its even worse than I expected......DeWine shared sponsorship with...well read it yourselves :

Quote
What the commercial does not mention is that DeWine co-sponsored the bill with Democratic Sens. Edward M. Kennedy, of Massachusetts, and Hillary Rodham Clinton, of New York. It would be difficult to imagine two senators more disliked by the Republicans expected to vote in the May 2 primary.

DeWine...makin friendly with Kennedy and Clinton. The Senate's two BIGGEST MISTAKES...an alcholic unconvicted murder and serial sexual pervert enabler. But Its about the ....CHILLREN.
