Driving around the state its hard not to see the early "bloom" of gubernatorial bumper stickers.Especially prominent are the ones stating" EDUCATORS FOR STRICKLAND".I happen to be dining a couple of Fridays past in the North end of Columbus at a major hotel and the parking lot was chock full of out-of-county vehicles all sporting NEA for Strickland and similiar derrivitives. Yes.....the union Marxists are in high mobilization and engauged in a mission.
Lets assume Strickland should win the gov's race. What will the "union thugs" expect as payoff for their support? I can imagine they will expect education to be additionally funded by......perhaps an increase in state sales tax....or perhaps an increase in the state income tax......or perhaps BOTH with the caveat that those revenues be specifically earmarked for education. After all isn't it about the children and educators upgrading to Lexus automobiles ? Oh....excuse me...how could I be so crass ?

Talk about being prophetic..........Tuesdays Dispatch 8-1-06....Metro section page D3....."District seeks 1% tax on Pay Only" ...the SW school district plans to ask voters to approve a 1% income tax to shore-up the obvious mismanagement of school funding. The bait to entice the voters in the affirmative is the exclusion of the elderly because only earned income....no pension or social security dollars will be confiscated.  NOW.......if Ohio could just elect a Democratic Governor....this scheme to open the tax payers wallet with yet another funding stream to those poor teachers can be established stateWide and provide that panacea of "Thorough and Efficient education". Yes VOTE FOR STRICKLAND and tax Ohio into the abyss. After fall elections...it will not suprise me to see Ohioans voting with their U-Hauls.
