As Kermit the Frog will happily tell our children"It not easy being Green".BUT....it just may be an EASY DECISION TO BUY THE GREEN STORY.And so goes the propaganda war for the hearts and minds of the uneducated,under-educated, and the hopeless and hapless in our midst.
As an example of this propaganda war the Cols Dispatch ran (3) articles Saturday 11-24-07 underscoring the "threat" of "GLOBAL WARMING",each with implied or stated anthropomorphic causation:
1) "GLOBAL warming?Heck,we're the USA" by Tom Teepen where he chides
America as a land of right-wing talk radio nut-jobs pushing propaganda
that liberals are "wacko environmentalists"
2) "Carbon dioxide hit high in '06,UN says", Associated Press piece pointing
out that two of the most important "green house" gases in Earth's
atmosphere reached a recod high in '06. Total CO2 weighed in at 381.2
ppm or less than .04 of 1%. Of that sustantially less than 1% how much
is created by man?Article doesnt say.
3) "Buckeye tree threatened by warming" in the letter to the editors section
of the paper,Noella Janka(Field organizer for National Environmental
Trust)informs us that we Ohioans will loose our "beloved buckeye tree
because of our accelerating climate change".Stating from the IPCC recently
released"Synthesis Report",she says serious consequences will result if
we don't reduce greenhouse gases like war, radical weather patterns,
disease and pestilence. Pleeezzz..... save the Buckeye Tree !!!
I didn't spot any balanced presentation in the Dispatch on this important topic. I guess,as the LEFTIES will argue, the debate is over on Global Warming and MAN is guilty as charged.Ready your wallets for Phase ll.........CARBON TAX

As the nations of the world prepare to meet in Bali next week,It seems being "GREEN" will be easy for them as they unite to shake down America as the lone opponent to a Kyoto type scam.Americas former ally....Australia.....under the new socailist leadership(Leader of Australia's Labor Party) of newly elected Prime Minister Kevin Rudd, will vote to ratify a Kyoto type pact.Being GREEN is easy...sorta similiar to der SchlickMeisters easy cant of "I feel your pain".

Well I guess seeing is believing. After a visit in Bali with Environmental Shake-Down Yahoos......Prime Minister Rudd from Australia changed his mind and will not join in this transparent fleecing.....he got smart. Our man on the scene John Kerry(BTW...he served in Viet Nam) had this to say:
kyoto: kerry was against it before he was for it
Astute readers remember (better than the AP) that in 1997, the US Senate voted 95-0 to oppose any climate treaty that excluded China, India and other developing nations.
John Kerry was one of the 95. Now he’s in Bali:
Kerry gravely told the group that he was delighted to be in Bali at this “transformational moment.” He thanked the nations that persevered to push the Kyoto Protocol without the participation and leadership of the United States.
Kerry assured the audience that all of us are here because for the past 20 years, the world’s best scientists have gathered evidence showing that humanity is on a dangerous path. “There is no more serious issue than climate change,” said Kerry. Since the USCAN session was devoted to updating action to address climate change in the U.S., Kerry happily could describe the new Lieberman-Warner Climate bill which had just been reported out of the Senate’s Environment and Public Works Committee on December 5.
Let’s give Kerry the benefit of the doubt and interpret the Byrd-Hagel resolution, not as a rejection of Kyoto, but as an attempt to steer the negotiations.
Does anyone believe that China, which is due to bring some 400 new coal-fired generating plants online, would agree to Kyoto? A liberal might believe that, but not anyone with common sense.

Well.....AGW is a myth....a SCAM......even if you conceded man could address and ameliorate the problem......CHINA would definitely have to be onboard with the plans to fight global warming....which they never would cede .

Austin's clean energy program costing more, selling less
Electric utility chief says separate charge for renewable power may need to be rolled into all users' bills.
By Marty Toohey
AMERICAN-STATESMAN STAFF
Sunday, July 12, 2009
For the past decade, Austin's ambition to become the world's clean-energy capital has been best exemplified by one effort: GreenChoice, a program that sells electricity generated entirely from renewable sources such as wind.
Now the nationally renowned program is struggling to find buyers — the latest allotment is 99 percent unsold after seven months on the market — and Austin Energy is looking for ways to bring down the rising costs.
But those are short-term talks.
....
Duncan said part of the solution might just be adding new wind, solar and other renewable-energy projects into the bills of all Austin Energy customers, which could increase rates for everyone. He said there are also numerous other policies being considered but declined to discuss them, saying only that they will be proposed publicly in the near future.

From the Desk of ol' Mary Jo:
Quote
July 14, 2009
"We see those [clean-energy] jobs ...going overseas .... We are going to lose that if we don't act now."
-- Steve Kline, vice president of Pacific Gas and Electric
The American Clean Energy and Security Act will create thousands of jobs, reduce our dependence on foreign energy and save our planet from dangerous emissions. So it would seem to be a slam-dunk right?
Unfortunately, there has been lots of misinformation on the initiative that passed the House of Representatives in June. I want to be clear, I voted for this historic legislation because it will create jobs in this country and bolster the private sector's investment in the clean energy industry that is already strong in Ohio.
Opponents of this bill have sliced and diced numbers to scare away the American public. The truth-from the investigative arm of Congress-is that this bill will cost less than a trip to the movies per month for our families. That small investment, according to the Political and Economic Research Institute, will create 67,000 jobs in Ohio and leverage more than $5 billion in private sector investment.
If we do not act to make protecting our environment part of our economic recovery, other countries will. We know that countries in Asia and Europe are growing their manufacturing sectors and I will not let more good-paying manufacturing jobs head overseas.
Don't take my word for it: look at this map that shows just a sample of the businesses in our district that will be boosted by this bill.
My top priority is to rebuild our economy after years of neglect. The American Clean Energy and Security Act might not be looked at kindly by foreign dictators or oil companies selling us energy, but I'm not worried about them.
I'm focused on creating jobs for central Ohio.

"A trip to the movies per month for our families". Is that all? Let's run the numbers on that one.
Tickets for a family of 4 - $40.
Drinks - $12
Popcorn/Snacks: $12
$64/month.
$768/year

Am I correct in that it runs up to $57.6 Billion for the nation?
Mary Jo is a little deceitful or didn't pass math in elementary school.
