Some high ranking people have made comments about the breakdown of society from the result of the housing market(s) and the fall of the US Federal reserve note – more specifically, from the former chief strategist for Morgan Stanley “Assume the possibility of a breakdown of the civilized infrastructure.” ….”Even in America and Europe there could be moments of riot and rebellion when law and order temporarily completely breaks down.”

Well now, that sounds like anarchy.  The same people have said it may be wise to store some food.

Has anyone on this board ever figured out what it would take to survive if we had a global collapse above and beyond the great depression?  I have.  Here is just a little taste of starvation:

The first question that comes to mind is – if, and when s*** hits the fan, what happens to all the liberals who preach “Maslow’s hierarchy needs” Or – the racist bastards who have adopted, and teach this filth “The Origin of Species by Means of Natural Selection, or The Preservation of Favored Races in the Struggle for Life.  This all seems like a bad day….

Lets do worst case scenario - one year. (I’ll leave it up to the reader what that is) what do you need for one year?  What do you need, how do you store it, how long will it last… How do I protect it?

Water:

Water should be a top priority. Drinking water in emergency situations should not be taken for granted, and never rationed. Therefore, it is critical to store adequate amounts of water - FEMA suggests one gallon of water per person - half gallon of water daily just for drinking.

So, for one person you would need 365 gallons of water – just for the basics.  Half of that is for drinking…

more coming later...

May not be able to stock enough for a year but how many people can't last even 3 days. Just look @ N. Orleans. Takes time but what if every time you went to the store you picked up just 1 extra can of beans and a gallon of water. You may not be ready for tomorrow but in time........  And it won't break the bank. It's just like starting a savings account. It doesn't happen overnight but w/ time the $s grow and so does the food supply.

Next remember self defense, shelter, basic camping stuff, knife, 1st aid, fire and the biggie- TP (have to have some creature comfort flaw- cant do pine cones).
