[ excerpt [John Shaddeg]   R. Az dist #3
May. 18, 2008 12:00 AM
In 2007, there were 359 kidnappings in Phoenix. Our city is on its way to becoming the kidnapping capitol of the country. Every one of those 359 kidnappings involved illegal immigrants.

Even worse, last year, illegals shot two Phoenix police officers, killing one. A nation without secure borders is not a nation. America's porous borders threaten our national security and allow dangerous criminals into our communities.

This is wreaking havoc on our society and straining our country's judicial, health care, education and welfare systems. Something must be done.

Seems obvious enough.
Why do we put up with it?

Are we:
 1) paralyzed with fear of our illegal Hispanic neighbor
 2) apathetic to our children's future in a lawless land
 C) guilt-ridden of our ancestors transgressions against the peaceful indigenous Aztecs
 D) pawns in someone else's plan

I hate to oversimplify this answer, but is it possible that MOST AMERICANS simply have not heard the TRUTH stated this clearly???

Example:  I had not heard a statistic this glaring before.  I'm guessing most Americans have not heard this either.

Where would we learn this sort of information?  The news media

Why aren't they doing their job to educate the public, and tell the voters the truth that will enable us to make informed decisions about running our country?

Answer:  Some stories, facts, truths run counter to their vision of the world, their favored party, and their agenda.   Thus, we do not get the TRUTH.

This, I believe, is the primary reason Americans "put up withy this".  Most Americans simply don't know the TRUTH, because those who are supposed to provide it have chosen not to.

P.S.  With that in mind, last night I was at a local college campus for a concert.  Boldly engraved at the entrance to the concert hall was the following statement:  "TO CONTEMPLATE TRUTH AND TO SHARE THE FRUITS OF THAT CONTEMPLATION"

As far as I am concerned, that is brilliant.  However, as Jack Nicholson's movie line goes, some people just "can't handle the TRUTH!" Wink

Very True Fetta,   Our liberal rag [Az republic]  10 yrs ago went from the "illegal alien" word to... "undocumented immigrants"... in the last 2 years they almost NEVER   include illegal or undocumented with a crime story    its too insensitive they say... We do not want to hurt the feelings of the criminals.

thats the problem... Liberalization of America!

Plagiarized:

Diane Feinstein's illegal alien amnesty bill is one step closer to becoming law! Her plan to grant a 5-year amnesty for up to 3 million illegal aliens and their families was attached to the Iraq War supplemental bill, on Thursday, May 15th. Knowing that the war funding bill is desperately needed to support our troops in battle overseas, the amnesty plan was attached covertly in attempts that no one would notice.

The open-borders champions hope that the longer illegal aliens stay the more difficult it will ever be to deny them U.S. citizenship. If it passes, this would open the door for even larger waves of illegal immigration in the future!

Thats the "whole" problem with amnesty... another tidal wave of illegals ... some say as many as 50 million.

And why would anyone want this?
Is the benefit of adding this voting block to your side of the aisle really worth bankrupting the country?

As a first generation American, I still like the idea of sponsorship.

If Leftists like IS and TS support the idea of illegal immigration so much have them sponsor a specific individual or family that is here illegally.
If the illegal cannot provide for their own healthcare or support then the sponsor is contractually obligated to cover the cost.
If the illegal cannot provide for their own shelter then the sponsor is contractually obligated to have the illegal move in with the sponsor.

How long would that last?
Once again, a practical solution (in 25 words or less) that would have illegal immigration resolved over night. As we all know, the Left supports illegal immigration as long as someone else is paying for it, never themselves.
