Help Expose the Extreme Liberal Bias of WOSU
After posting a rough analysis of the weekly WOSU topics in the "Suggest a Topic" thread, I decided this topic deserved a thread of its own. I plan to use it to start qualifying the shows until there is enough evidence to convince friends in the Statistics, Economics, Mathematics or Sociology Depts to assign a few grad students to this study. Not surprising that this study hasn't already been done, that is what you expect from a Totalitarian Left organization. Some questions just can't be asked. Bottom line, I am 100% confident that any objective study of topics on WOSU will demonstrate an obscene leftward bias, that may be enough to convince OSU or Public Representitives that changes need to be made. Conservative pay taxes too. WOSU is not the tool of its leftist employees, WOSU is to SERVE the public, the whole public, not just the nut jobs on the left.

Do a show on whether or not there is an extreme liberal bial to PBS and Open Line. I use this week's schedule as evidence.The only thing missing is Debating the Good Society with Andrew Bard Schmookler (is that guy routinely schedled ever two weeks or so? Can't you find a more motivated, creative, open minded and original person to do your show scheduling? What are they using? Their 3 page Rollodex from the 60's), LOL. There isn't a single episode that is even close to middle of the road, let alone give a conservative perspective. Air America went bankrupt wtih this kind of slant. Just because PBS gets tax payer funding doesn't mean they can ignore their obligation to appeal to all tax payers, not just the liberals. We have enough liberal media. If anything our tax dollars should be used to provide a balance to what the regulated media market hasn't provided. We have licensed our airways to some of the most liberal organizations out there CBS, ABC and NBC. PBS has an obligation to provide a different perspective, not just more of the same liberal garbage that has destroyed Air America and the viewership of the major broadcast networks.

Scott, thanks for joining the discussion. As you know I have a great deal of respect for you and the work that you do. That being said, however, I feel obligated to apply an Angry Bob smack-down analysis to your comments.

The title of the thread is "Help Expose the Extreme Liberal Bias of WOSU." The intent is to demonstrate the extreme bias on the WOSU Open Line Show, where a group of lefties are left on their own to demonstrate what they feel America wants to hear. I simply point out what you get when you get a group of group think lefties together and let them express their views, attitudes and beliefs. All I do is shine a shot light on it. I am sure everyone, but maybe you, down at WOSU believes that they are not biased. My intent is to prove otherwise.

Once again, my issue is with WOSU Open Line, where a bias can be demonstrated. This is simply a Peer Review, nothing more. I have always been subjected to Peer reviews in my fields, why should WOSU be any different. In fact, I would have thought you, as web master, would already have a feed back aspect. BTW, how many "suggested topics" have made it on the show? That would be an interesting study.

I never did. Can you point to where I made that claim? I can tell you from a statistical perspective, by having an extreme bias of liberal listeners, and limiting callers to once every two weeks, will guarantee that the vast majority of your callers will be liberal. It is like an electronic Poll Tax, that will give you the results you want without having to be so obvious about it. It is simply a numbers game. America is split 50/50, can you honestly make the claim that since implementing the once every two weeks rule that conservatives are equally represented? I doubt it, but can't prove it. The very topics you choose will chase conservatives away.

Great example of liberal history re-writing and disgraceful bias. Watch Charlie Wilson's War and see if you can tell who the President was during that time. Never once is President Reagan mentioned. In Hollywood's eye, Murtha, Wilson and the warmongering North-East Liberal Democrats were responsible for Afghanistan defeating the Russians. Ironically, Charlie Wilson was doing the same thing Oliver North was doing, but for some reason, Charlie is a hero and Oliver is a villain. Also, ironically, it was this same group of warmongering North-East Liberals that pulled the funding for the Contras. Also, the CIA is the hero of the liberals, who later gut and hamstring it with policies like the Gorelick Memo under Clinton. Religious people were of course portrayed as dimwitted, ultra-rich hypocrites. The story starts with Charlie siding with the ACLU over a nativity scene on a Fire Dept Lawn. Lastly, it was the Democratic Congress that made it all happen , yet when it falls apart in the end, they blame the President (who at the time was dealing with Persian Gulf War I and the fall of the Soviet Union) by quoting him as saying "Afghanistan, is that still going on?" Remember, this would have been Pres Bush I, THE FORMER CIA DIRECTOR!!! Of course, after those challenges were resolved would have been the perfect time, but Bill Clinton inherited peace and prosperity and did nothing buy keep Bin Laden safe and secure from the CIA. I know this sounds outrageous, go watch the movie.

Oh, lastly, Reagan is NEVER mentioned and they make is look like the CIA and US wanted to hide the US' involvement in the war. The US provided STINGER Missiles to win the war, which were US missiles. Why the US would try to hide its opposition to the Soviets in Afghanistan, but not in Grenada, Panama, Europe, South America etc etc etc is never answered. I guess in Hollywood, you can just make things up.

What is so damn funny, and the liberals justt don't seem to get it, is that Charlie Wilson is made out to be a hero, yet everything he did was exactly what you would expect a Republican to do. So the message is that Democrats should be honored when they act like Reagan and the Republicans. They should:
1) Never negotiate with the enemy, simply blast them to hell
2) Refer to God a lot, and define things in good and evil
3) Strongly support the CIA and covert options
4) Support military solutions over diplomacy when dealing with pure evil
5) Defend our Nation
6) Act preemptively, and enter wars in order to free people
7) Provide weapons to people that later turn out to be terrorists, but blame that part on Reagan, even though this movie claims he had nothing to do with it.
