Eric Holder, Pathetic … And His Pathos Is
Right There On The Front Page Of The Times.

Poor Eric Holder. The fact is that he is none too smart ... and none too versed in constitutional issues. Although Ronald Reagan did appoint him Judge of the Superior Court of the District of Columbia! Ah, those were the days when Republican presidents appointed Democrats to judicial office and Democratic presidents appointed Republicans to same. Actually, aside from his graduation from Stuyvesant High School in New York City, "second rate" is what comes to mind when you hear Holder's name.

Hey, Janet Reno wasn't so brainy either.

Basketball-fan-in-chief Barack Obama is thinking about hitting the hardwood with the man who sidelined his healthcare reform overhaul, newly-seated Sen. Scott Brown (R-Mass.)

The Associated Press reported Wednesday that Brown's office floated the idea of holding a charity game in Springfield, Mass., which is considered the birthplace of basketball. A White House spokesman told the AP that they are considering the possibility.

The President and First Lady took time out of their busy schedules on Wednesday to sit down for a taping with "American Idol" as part of the hit show's fundraising event set to air next week.

Obama backers show signs of disappointment

Gay rights activists heckled President Barack Obama this week at a Democratic event that exposed signs of disenchantment threatening the party in November's congressional elections.

Five million first-time voters turned out in 2008, many drawn by Obama's promise of hope and overwhelmingly voting for Democrats. Now disappointed, or at least apathetic, they may not go to the polls this year.

Obama's support has dropped below 50 percent from nearly 70 percent after 15 months in office, Gallup opinion polls show.

Gay rights supporters, abortion rights activists, environmentalists and backers of immigration reform all have seen their agendas stalled, with watered-down healthcare the main accomplishment of Obama's once-ambitious agenda.

At Monday's rally in Los Angeles, protesters shouted at Obama to repeal the "Don't Ask Don't Tell" military policy that allows gays to serve if they keep quiet about their sexual orientation. Gays believe that makes them second-class citizens, and Obama has vowed to repeal the policy.

President Obama promised on May 14 that he would let nothing distract him from finding a solution to the devastating Gulf Coast oil spill, which has now continued for over eighty days and caused incalculable economic damage to the region.

“I’m not going to rest or be satisfied until the leak is stopped at the source, the oil in the Gulf is contained and cleaned up, and the people in the Gulf are able to go back to their lives and their livelihoods,” he said.

President Obama has since golfed on numerous occasions, hosted a Beatles legend at the White House, and met with U2 star Bono — even as his administration criticized BP’s CEO for spending a single day yachting during the crisis.

President Obama, his poll numbers tanking, will return to Martha’s Vineyard - the most Democratic spot in the bluest of blue states - for his summer vacation next month, island sources said. Our spies on The Rock report that the first family will return to Chilmark’s Blue Heron Farm for about 10 days in August.

Jan Brewer, the Governor of Arizona, said in an interview yesterday that she invited 0bama to AZ to tour the border.  He said that he didn't have time.  But apparently he has time to go on 3 vacations in less than 2 months and I see he made it to the View for a cutesy interview.

And he blew off the Boy Scouts 100th Anniversary so he could video tape his appearance on The View.

Just got back from DC and the place was inundated with Boy Scouts.  I am glad to see the tradition is still alive.  I was glad to see so many of them at Arlington Cemetery.  I was especially heartened to see a troop of inner-city Scouts there...very proud to see...

There they go again. For the fifth time since July, the first family has set plans to board Air Force One for a frilly vacation, a 10-day return trip to exclusive Martha's Vineyard where they are expected to stay at the 28-acre oceanfront Blue Heron Farm that rents for up to $50,000 a week.
