We're happy to announce that on April 15th, American Solutions will be sponsoring Tax Day Tea Parties all across the country. We've partnered with the Nationwide Tea Party Coalition, and over 150 cities have already been confirmed.

You can find a Tea Party in your area by going to www.AmericanSolutions.com/TeaParty.

This is our opportunity to do two things.

First--to communicate our anger and opposition to the irresponsible, big spending policies of Washington politicians who have failed to solve problems.

Second--to clearly define a bold, new agenda and tell our elected officials that they can either work for us, or we will vote them out of office.

To help do this, we've created an American Solutions Toolkit for Tea Parties. It includes our 12 American Solutions for Jobs & Prosperity, a few handouts about our solutions relating to spending and taxes, and a checklist so we can begin to find out where our elected officials stand.

To download your Toolkit for Tea Parties go to www.AmericanSolutions.com/TeaParty.

Propping up and bailing out failure with our tax dollars is not a solution for our economy. It is irresponsible, and we must not tolerate it any longer.

We hope you'll join us on April 15th to make this clear to Washington.

Sincerely,

Dave R

The time (6PM) should be put up on the front page. I contacted Dirk Thompson's show for the last Tea Party and was able to get a spokesperson (one of the OSU students) on his show. Should I again or is someone else going to do that? Is there a spokesperson from CTH that would be interested in getting on some shows?

Hello everyone,

In case you're wondering who I am, I'm Justin Higgins, a 19 year-old political blogger and Ohio State Freshman. I was the Master of Ceremonies for the tea party event on March 14th and I'm once again assisting Americans for Prosperity in our organization for a protest against a reckless state budget and a strings-attached stimulus plan that will lead to massive debt.

Are you excited yet? If you're receiving this e-mail you either attended our March 14th event or contacted me since then saying you were interested in our plans for tax day, April 15th. Our event is planned for the Statehouse Lawn at 6 PM (too many hardworking Americans want to attend but can't miss work to make it any earlier) Let me tell you friends, we're planning on making a lot of noise downtown so that the news outlets can't ignore us this time. I've received dozens (if not hundreds) of e-mails asking, what can I do to help? Here's what I can suggest so far:

If you're on Facebook, RSVP for our Facebook Event at http://www.facebook.com/home.php?ref=logo#/event.php?eid=72809967570&ref=nf and invite your friends!
Americans for Prosperity, the host organization for our event, has a petition up opposing fee increases in Ohio. Sign it at http://www.feesaretaxes.com
Also, attached are two flyers that you can print out and give to friends or put up in acceptable places throughout your neighborhoods.

Now for the fun stuff...
Please e-mail a short (200 words or less) letter to the editor explaining your interest in the tea party protests and your disgust that they didn't cover the events earlier this month to letters@dispatch.com
Also, on this page (http://dispatch.com/live/content/services/stories/contact_us/staff.html) there are a list of e-mails, phone numbers, and an address for the Dispatch. Let's melt their phones, fill their inboxes, and make them listen.
If you want to push the radio angle, contact information for 610 WTVN is online at http://610wtvn.com/pages/contact.html

I'll be sending out some more e-mails as the event approaches, and there's a good chance AFP might be getting in touch also. Feel free to contact me for more information or with ideas, this is a grassroots effort.
My website is www.shotsonthehouse.com and there's a special page up at www.shotsonthehouse.com/teaparty with info. Tell your family and friends and let's get ready to "rev it up" on April 15th.

Cape "tea party" canceled; City fears too many attendees
By WINK News

Story Created: Mar 27, 2009 at 6:10 PM EDT

Story Updated: Mar 27, 2009 at 6:16 PM EDT
CAPE CORAL, Fla. - A tea party to protest government spending and taxing is canceled. Canceled by the government.

Why? They feel too many people could show-up.

Lynn Rosko planned to hold a tax payer tea party at Jaycee Park in Cape Coral on April 1st. The idea was announced at a Cape Coral City Council meeting, then an e-mail blast by the Republican Party and it was mentioned in the local media.

With all of that attention, the City of Cape Coral felt there could be more than 500 people attending the tea party.

I need some info on the Tea Party...  As I understand it, we're starting at 6:00 PM, correct?

I received this today... is it all part of the same party or are there multiple events going on? Here it is:

Quote
Join us in a Tax Day/Tea Party March/Rally at the Columbus metropolitan Public Library at 96 S. Grant Ave. in Columbus, Ohio April 15th from 9 A.M. to 12:30 P.M. for the Rally which includes speakers:

  • Robert Owens, former candidate for Attorney General,
  • Paddy Shaffer, Director of the Ohio Election Justice Campaign,
  • Dave Daubenmire, Coach who was fired because he allowed his team to voluntarily say prayer before games,
  • Dave Buess, expert on Constitutional issues,
  • Jimmy Jarvis, expert on Tax matters, and
  • Scott Kyler, Neighborhood Defense groups/second amendment.

At 12:30 we will adjourn our Rally and March to the State Capital for meetings with our Governor and Legislators on Constitutional Issues facing our state. Hey --
A buddy of mine is attending with his young son, and we will have a sign for the boy that says "Don't mortgage my future"

Unless someone else has a better idea this could be a good theme for youth signs, because unlike those on the left, we really do care abouut the children.

Oh, and the hell with Obama.

Read this Rep.'s comments about yesterday's tea parties:

Quote
Rep. Jan Schakowsky (D-Ill.) blasted "tea party" protests yesterday, labeling the activities "despicable" and shameful."

"The ‘tea parties’ being held today by groups of right-wing activists, and fueled by FOX News Channel, are an effort to mislead the public about the Obama economic plan that cuts taxes for 95 percent of Americans and creates 3.5 million jobs," Schakowsky said in a statement.

"It’s despicable that right-wing Republicans would attempt to cheapen a significant, honorable moment of American history with a shameful political stunt," she added. "Not a single American household or business will be taxed at a higher rate this year. Made to look like a grassroots uprising, this is an Obama bashing party promoted by corporate interests, as well as Republican lobbyists and politicians.”

http://briefingroom.thehill.com/2009/04/16/schakowsky-tea-parties-despicable/

Now read this from her Wikipedia entry:

On March 11, 2004, Schakowsky's husband, lobbyist Robert Creamer, the executive director of the Illinois Public Action Fund, was indicted in federal court on 16 counts of bank fraud involving three alleged check-kiting schemes in the mid-1990s, leading several banks to experience shortfalls of at least $2.3 million[8]. "He is innocent," Schakowsky said in a statement [9]. In August 2005, Creamer pleaded guilty to one count of failure to collect withholding tax, and bank fraud for writing checks with insufficient funds. All of the money was repaid. According to USA Today Congresswoman "Schakowsky has not been accused of any wrongdoing." [1] Schakowsky served on the organization's board during the time the crimes occurred [10] and Schakowsky signed the IRS filings along with her husband[9]. U.S. District Judge James B. Moran noted no one suffered "out of pocket losses" and Creamer acted not out of greed but in an effort to keep his community action group going without cutting programs, though Creamer paid his own $100,000 salary with fraudulently obtained funds. [2] On April 5, 2006, Creamer was sentenced to five months in prison and 11 months house arrest [11]. Creamer served his 5 month incarceration at the Federal Correction Institute in Terre Haute, Indiana and was released on November 3, 2006. [3]

Some photos of the Tea Party are posted at http://townhall.meetup.com/99/photos/

I've heard wildly varying numbers on the turnout.  Anyone heard of any solid head-counting?

The lamestream media reported  that the tea parties were funded by right-wing billionaires.  Did anyone get any money to protest?  I sure wish we had a billionaire to fund us like Soros...we could get a lot more done.

And the media saying that this was just an anti-0bama tirade.  Watch this video of a "conservative" RINO (who voted for the TARP) getting booed at a tea party.

The left is laughable when they throw every single lie at the wall and nothing sticks.
