If you take this into consideration with the proposal to give Obama control over the internet in case of "Emergencies", the FCC is actual giving even more control to the Executive Branch.

Ordinarily the service providers could police things that are dangerous, but this rule would disarm them and leave the susceptible to take over my the President.

Why hasn't the FCC looked into the filtered coverage of the major "news" networks?

Reports: FCC to Propose 'Net Neutrality' Rules

Saturday, September 19, 2009

WASHINGTON —  The head of the FCC plans to propose new rules that would prohibit Internet service providers from interfering with the free flow of information and certain applications over their networks, according to reports published Saturday.

The Washington Post and New York Times said the Federal Communications Commission chairman, Julius Genachowski, will announced the proposed rules in a speech Monday at the Brookings Institution, a Washington think tank.

The proposals would uphold a pledge Barack Obama made during the presidential campaign to support Internet neutrality and would bar companies like Verizon, Comcast or ATT&T, from slowing or blocking certain services or content flowing through their vast networks.

The rules would apply to all ISPs, including wireless service providers.

Is this the next 1st Amendment fight?

Driver's licenses for the Internet

Quote
I just went to a panel discussion about Internet security and let me tell you, it was scar-y. Between individual fraud, organized crime, corporate espionage and government spying, it's an incredibly dangerous world out there, which, according to one panelist, is growing exponentially worse.

These are incredibly complex problems that even the smartest of the smart admit they don't have a great handle on, although Craig Mundie, Microsoft's chief research and technology officer, offered up a surprisingly simple solution that might start us down a path to dealing with them: driver's licenses for the Internet.

I tried to steer away from Alex Jones, but he's willing to touch subjects that the MSM won't.  This video links some interesting articles.  Notice how Congress, the Administration, the UN, other nations and the Corporate world favor censorship.  The US is currently airing cyber war games on broadcast TV to expose the Americans to this.  There are threats out there, but my guess is that the powers that be have another motive.

War game simulates cyberattack
