Social Security is like reparations in reverse

One of the worst things about having a liberal media, educational system and establishment is that they fail to apply the necessary oversight and criticism to policies and programs that they support. If the liberals support a program, all you hear are rosy reviews. The greatest example of this is Social Security. The average African American Male has a life expectancy of just less than 65 years of age. Social Security starts paying out full benefits at 65, soon to be increased to 67. This means that the average African America Male can expect to get absolutely nothing back from Social Security. Worse yet, that 12.4% of income could have been invested in 100% risk free T-bills, earning a higher rate of return and providing for a nice inheritance for his children. On the other hand the demographic that benefits most from Social Security are White Women. In essence, Social Security takes from African American Males and redistributes their income to White Women. Social Security is like reparations in reverse. Now just imagine if life insurance policies were sold with actuarial assumptions and payouts similar to Social Security. The media would have a hissy fit, liberal politicians would cry racism demanding legislative actions against such firms, teachers would demand ethics be taught in business schools and civil rights activists would lead boycotts. Unfortunately when the racist institution is a government policy supported by liberals, the only voice calling attention to these issues are lonely letter to the editor writers like myself. Reform of Social Security is the greatest civil rights issue of my generation. Regrettably, talking the talk is a lot easier than walking the walk and that is why liberals will talk about racism but walk away from reforming Social Security.
