My new favorite sport of all time is Ninja Warrior.

It is a Japanese sport. I think it started in the 1980's. The show is japanese with english subtitles for the American audience. An obstacle course of 4 stages is built every season and competitors who have qualified start at stage 1. Those who complete it on time move on to the advancing stages.

You are immediately disqualified if you touch water. The whole course is built over deep, muddy pits. If so much as a pinkie toe ripples the water, you are eliminated.

Those who make it all the way to the very end and complete the final stage are treated like national heroes. Many comedians and clowns show up to compete. Some corporations have their best employee compete. I've even seen olympians with gold medals attend this competition. Some American skateboarders and urban dancers try out. IMHO, it is the most hardcore sport on TV.

If a competitor defeats a stage of the course, it will be redesigned next season so that it gets even more difficult to beat. If nobody ever defeats the stage, it will remain unchanged for the next season's competition.

So, anyway...
I wish I had the resources to make a viral you-tube video satire of this show, "Ninja Warrior for Democrats."  I'm having fun just thinking up ideas for it. Anybody chime in with their own, please.

-NWFD will be spanish with english subtitles for the American audience.

-Last season only one competitor, Kem Bankaba from Somalia, completed the first stage: "Get United States Citizenship." Highlight video shows his mad dash above the water to complete all the steps. Since NWFD only had one person complete the first stage last season, this year the course will be made easier than last year's course. The rules have been changed so that competitors are allowed to touch the water. As a matter of fact, the event has been moved to the Rio Grande and all you need to do is reach the American side to get citizenship.

Anyway, I wonder if anybody who is a fan of the show has more ideas that would be funny in the context of a Ninja Warrior satire.

-One of the challenges can be for the contestant to collect 1,000 signatures on a petition for Congress to change the definition of the word "tax" in the Webster's Dictionary
