The movie "reveals the true human cost of Global Warming hysteria."

What hysteria?

Isn't global warming a fact? Isn't global warming going to lead to serious detrimental consequences?

Where is the hysteria? Who is hysterical?

I am concerned about global warming -- am I alarmed? Not really.
I'm a realist -- I realize that people are fallible and sometimes do stupid things.
I suspect that not much will be done to prepare for or prevent global warming.

Tax increases on working families?  A tax on us is the least of our worries.

Tax increases would be nothing compared to the costs that will be piled on working families because so many of our corporate and political leaders chose to ignore global warming.

That's life. Our kids will have to face the consequences of our collective stupidity.

Good old lefties...don't debate, don't answer questions, just turn the microphone off and silence the other side.... they must be so proud.

An Inconvenient Question   [Greg Pollowitz]

GlobalWarming.org:

Phelim McAleer, co-director/producer of “Not Evil Just Wrong” and asker of difficult questions, reportedly just had his microphone turned off as he queried Al Gore at the Society of Environmental Journalists conference in Madison, Wisc.

More on McAleer's past tough questions here.

P.S.  Low of 30°F tonight in Madison. Bundle up and don't forget to thank Al for the cold spell

According to the "Not Evil Just Wrong" publicity:

"Not Evil Just Wrong shows how Global Warming alarmism and the tax increases that go along with it are going to increase costs for working families during one of the worst recessions in living memory."

So...no outrage from the left when the microphone is turned off.  Hmmm.   Will there be outrage if the reverse is true?

Sorry, I have only so much energy and I'm not going to waste it on phony outrage.

Microphones are, except in rare cases, someone's private property. The owner of the sound system has every right to cut off someone's microphone.

Why don't you ask the "tough questions" he posed here? Let us judge if they were really tough questions or just the rantings of another lunatic.

You have the forum -- now pose the questions.

Thank you for the video.

My experience, -- limited as it is -- is that when people are lined up behind you to ask questions -- and you want to debate the issue -- is that you get asked to cede the mike to the next questioner.

No one came to the event to listen to my arguments. No one came to the event McAleer debate Al Gore.

Shutting off the mike was, in my experience, totally consistent with these sorts of events.

Tough questions? That's an exaggeration. At 50 seconds in he asks if Gore has corrected the errors in his movie.

If you'd like to debate Gore's movie again -- let's do it. He got the basic science about right -- the errors he makes are only minor ones. The interesting thing is the way his critics have lied about the movie and try to focus attention on Al Gore and not the science.

That makes for an interesting discussion.

Start out by listing the nine significant errors a British climate scientist judge found in the movie.

At 1:30 McAleer brings up polar bears showing his utter and complete ignorance. He asks, how can a population that is increasing be endangered?

Yes, there are a couple of local populations of polar bears that have increased n population.
The two populations that are increasing, both in north-eastern Canada, were severely reduced by hunting in the past and are recovering thanks to the protection they and their prey now enjoy.

All other population groups are in decline.

It matters little whether the population as a whole is increasing or decreasing. One thing is certain. No sea ice means no seals which means no polar bears. With Arctic sea ice retreating at an accelerating rate, the polar bear is at grave risk of extinction

More on Not Evil Just Wrong   [John Hood]

Over at the Washington Independent, David Weigel has an interesting piece about the upcoming documentary Not Evil Just Wrong, which examines environmental alarmists in general and Al Gore in particular. Its creator, Phelim McAleer, is pulling out all the stops to promote the film, which premieres on October 18. Weigel relates the details of the recent public exchange between McAleer and Gore, and observes:

This is shaping up to be a big week for McAleer and his co-director Ann McElhinney, and a celebratory moment for climate change skeptics everywhere. Two years ago the pair of Irish journalists broke the mold for conservative documentaries with Mine Your Own Business: The Dark Side of Environmentalism, a look at a Romanian town’s battle against foreign environmental activists who wanted to stop the building of a local gold mine. That portrait of poor, benighted Europeans flummoxed by jet-setting elitists set the stage for “Not Evil Just Wrong: The True Cost of Global Warming Hysteria,” which was funded, according to McAleer, by less than $1 million from wealthy real estate investors. The slick documentary, by turns sardonic and grim, could do for opponents of the green movement what No End In Sight did for Iraq War opponents or — ideally — what Gore’s “An Inconvenient Truth” did for McAleer’s foes.

“The strengths of the climate change skeptic movement, the ‘let science be science’ movement, have always been intellectual,” said Fred Smith, the president of the Competitive Enterprise Institute, a Washington think tank that goes after greens. “The strength of the alarmist movement has always been emotive. This movie brings the human element in. It’s the first attempt, of a serious type, to put a human face on disastrous environmental policies.”
