Clinton did it and Obama wants to.
Quote
United States and the International Criminal Court
When asked whether the United States should join the International Criminal Court, President Obama (then a Senator), stated:
Yes[.] The United States should cooperate with ICC investigations in a way that reflects American sovereignty and promotes our national security interests[1].
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_and_the_International_Criminal_Court
It seems that the caveat is no longer used since he has become President.

NO F"ING WAY ! O'Bambi and all his Socialistas need to GTF out of my USA and move to Sweden and have a happy life. But, if they persist in this "fundamental change" BS, then we are going to have a "THROW DOWN" and there are going to be some dead lefties ! ! ! ! I swore to protect and defend the US Constitution against ALL enemies, foreign and domestic when I joined the US Marine Corps in 1965 and I am still a MARINE. Watch out you Socialist bastards, my tolerance is at it's end !

Hello Peter,
Thank you for bringing this to my attention. I had not seen this until now, and it is quite disturbing. I watched it several times, then signed the petition and sent letters to Brown and Voinovich and Tiberi (my Rep).
Guys, this is for ALLLL the marbles.
Now is the time
to make your voices heard...LOUD and CLEAR !!!
---Lord Monckton will be talking with Glenn Beck next week. Sorry, don't know which day(s).

Hi Peter. I have seen this speech from numerous sources over the past week including Heartland Institute, Heritage Foundation, The New American Magazine and Institute for Energy Research, to name a few. It was also played, in part, on FOX Business Channel during the "happy hour" show. Monckton was interviewed by Fox, and gave sound replies, but on the heels of being called "NOT NEWS"," the FOX reporters said they were skeptical. We'll see if they dig deeper. If Monckton is right, it definitely qualifies as NEWS!
You can download the treaty from the web site I manage. Scroll to the very bottom of the page at this link:
http://www.savewesternoh.org/globalwarming.html
If anyone correlates Lord Monckton's (former chief science adviser to Margaret Thatcher) sppech with the document, please let us all know!

These will be the times that try men's souls. America is run by George Soros sponsored proxies who are out to destroy the last sole "superpower". Soros wants America's "war machine " destroyed so that no longer can our Country's interests be defended. Hussein Obama is merely the puppet. If this Copenhagen treaty comes to pass.....the political careers of every stinkin' Democrat and Rino who votes for this American Clean Energy act must be destroyed. Freshman general science students have a better understanding of CO2 than these Al Gore "traitors" .

This will require 67 Senators to ratify this nonsense. 99 Senators voted against Kyoto so I doubt this this will get 67.
That being said, I can see Obama's Czars and EPA enforcing this through adminstrative edict.

That would fit his MO, Credo. But how did we get to the place where this is even a possibility? Have we, as a country, gone so far off course that we're truly in danger of losing who we are and transforming into something this bastardized? Or is a bunch of politicized hype? We've been talking for years (decades?) about this kind of thing, yet like continues on, as normal, for most people. Some of us frogs may feel the water getting warmer, but it's never really been this close to boiling before.

Everyone really came out of the woodwork for this thread. Good job Peter!
In other news, who's ready for a H1N1 "national emergency"? Which rights will be infringed this time?

Just noticed Peter's icon - the flag with the slogan "Made in USA . . . by robots"
That's a whole can of worms right there, isn't it? Americans maintain the manufacturing machinery that potentially lowers the cost of goods manufactured here. Too bad the robots aren't all made here, too, and part of a internship/apprenticeship network to support them.
I used to sell assembly automation for a Canadian integrator. i found it fascinating, but the biggest challenge was babysitting under qualified maintenance staff of our customers. Eventually it seemed as if US manufacturers seeking to automate using our solutions had to sell their capbilities to us before we would even quote!
There are at least four sides to every story, I guess...

United Nations Signals Delay in Climate Change Treaty
Quote
Tuesday, October 27, 2009
By Edith M. Lederer, Associated Press
United Nations (AP) - Just weeks before an international conference on climate change, the United Nations signaled it was scaling back expectations of reaching agreement on a new treaty to slow global warming.
Janos Pasztor, director of the secretary-general's Climate Change Support Team, said Monday "it's hard to say how far the conference will be able to go" because the U.S. Congress has not agreed on a climate bill, and industrialized nations have not agreed on targets to reduce their carbon dioxide emissions or funding to help developing countries limit their discharges.
Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon has made a new climate treaty his top priority, hosting a Sept. 22 summit on climate change to spur political support and traveling extensively to build political momentum for a global agreement to replace the 1997 Kyoto Protocol which only requires 37 industrialized nations to cut emissions.
Pasztor told a news conference "there is tremendous activity by governments in capitals and internationally to shape the outcome" of the climate change conference in Copenhagen, Denmark, in early December, which "is a good development" because political leadership is essential to make a deal.
But he indicated that Copenhagen most likely won't produce a treaty, but instead will push governments as far as they can go on the content of an agreement.
