Why was Kasich silent on the casinos?
Conservative casino foe furious at 2 GOP leadersThe conservative activist who has led the fight against casinos in Ohio since the 1990s isn't letting his fellow conservatives off the hook over the passage of a casino issue this month.
David P. Zanotti, head of the Ohio Roundtable, was unsparing in his criticism of two Republican leaders who either supported or were silent on Issue 3, which passed with 53 percent of the vote Nov. 3.

"The casino industry hired Republicans to do their dirty work. Two Ohio-based Republican consultants ran the $40 million pro-casino scam. Former Ohio state party chairman Bob Bennett was one of the key players on the casino payroll. Issue 3 was written by casinos for casinos, and brought to Ohio courtesy of key Republican strategists.
"While all this was going on, John Kasich, the chosen Republican to run for Ohio governor in 2010, spoke not one word. Kasich did not say a single word about Issue 3, an amendment that now has radically changed the Ohio Constitution and turned the Statehouse upside down."
