Jesse Ventura sues TSA in pat-down smackdown

MINNEAPOLIS — Former Minnesota Gov. Jesse Ventura sued the Department of Homeland Security and the Transportation Security Administration on Monday, alleging full-body scans and pat-downs at airport checkpoints violate his right to be free from unreasonable searches and seizures.

TSA announced it will not allow any more airports to choose to use private screeners instead of the TSA.

TSA employees at Los Angeles Airport missed 75% of explosives used by inspectors to test screeners. But San Francisco screeners, who work for a private company, missed only 20%.

David Mandy said agents at Detroit Metro Airport took his son Drew, 29, and asked him about the padding underneath his pants, which turned out to be adult diapers. Drew, who is severely mentally disabled, had trouble understanding the agents’ orders because his family said he has the mental capacity of a 2-year-old. The agents confiscated a six-inch plastic hammer, something Drew had carried with him for 20 years for comfort.

Compared to sex education, and other issues, in school, parents are responsible for preserving the innocence of the children at early ages before they are ready to be exposed to these issues.  As parents, are we not equally responsible for making sure that our children aren't exposed to and abused by the procedure of the TSA? Has anyone stopped to think about why psychological effects this is having on children subjected to this?
