First, I'll answer Dain.  You are wrong yet again.  Can you please do a minimal amount of homework before you criticize me?  The Afganis don't have a website in English but here's the Pakistani Libertarian website:

Wrong about what, exactly?  I never said there weren't Afghani Lib's, did I?  I just said they must not fit into their society very well, and they must be a very small group of people.  I would guarantee that Libertarianism is an ideology of affluence.  Ever heard of Maslow's hierarchy, Bob?

I have no doubt at all that there are Libertarians around the world...secular people are looking for salvation, after all, and the "invisible hand" of the marketplace seems pretty mystical.  Again, it's a redemptive cult, and like all cults it does not exercise much commonsense or circumspection.

As for doing "my homework," please don't accuse me of that.  It's not me who's made wild claims about New Zealand, the FBI, and Halliburton.  Shooting from the hip is your forte, not mine.

New Guy,

1. Your point about switching Bush and Ashcroft makes no sense.  If you read my original post I'm specifically talking about Ashcroft's inane press conference.  Ashcroft is part of the Bush administration.  I think they work together or is that a conspiracy theory?

2. Your hypocrisy claim is bunk.  You say I'm a hypocrite because I'm using the war on terror as an election issue?  News flash, it already is an election issue and long before I mentioned it.  Bush supporters ran that TV spot about 9/11 before they got cold feet and pulled it.  I'm not the one who had a press conference that contradicted the Cincinnati FBI.  I'm telling you that the Emperor has no clothes.  And you say I'm the one who stripped him naked?

1: I was pointing out that at first you pushed the blame on Bush and his administration, saying it was all for re-election and putting down Libertarians. Then you changed your mind, suddenly it was Ashcroft diverting attention due to the torture coverage. You make a lot of claims, and yet can't seem to decide on any of them. While its possible that it was due to both, I think you might have mentioned that, but since you can't decide on anything else, I am going to have to say that you seem more likely to have switched your view when things weren't going your way.

2: Yes, I'm sorry, but you are a hypocrite in that you called Bush despicable for turning the War on Terror into support for his re-election and then went ahead and used it yourself to hurt his re-election. If you never had a problem with it, then you shouldn't have used it to incriminate Bush in the first place. Again, get your views straight in your own head before you bring them here.

As far as the emperor and his clothes, I'm not saying for sure he has or hasn't gotten anything on, I'm just making the observation that you are dressed the same way as he.

And sorry, but my hypocrisy accusation is still well intact. You have tried to invalidate two of them, and where I sit(for all that means to you), you have failed. I'm ready to hear you try the last two.

That is truly disgusting Mr. Butler. You should be ashamed at yourself. Libertarians are often simple minded with their response to anything- Why I find libertarianism to be foolish can be discussed on another thread.  However, to believe and promote a conspiracy theory like that is nothing but a publicity stunt and silly. You will never be taken seriously in Ohio with that type of kook comment.

And just in case anyone was doubting that Paul Krugman is a liar, so says WSJ OnLine:

Stop the Presses
"No question: John Ashcroft is the worst attorney general in history." So began yesterday's Paul Krugman column in the New York Times. Boy, talk about a dog-bites-man story: Krugman, the frothing tribune of the Angry Left, denounces John Ashcroft, the man the Angry Left most loves to hate. For this they killed how many trees?

Krugman's column focuses on Ashcroft's alleged failures in dealing with terrorism, and it includes the whopper that the Ashcroft Justice Department has had an "absence of any major successful prosecutions." Columnist turned blogress Michelle Malkin notes that this is nonsense:

What about shoebomber Richard Reid? What about Taliban solider [sic] John Walker Lindh? What about Yahya Goba, Shafal Mosed, Yasein Taher, Taysal Galab, Mukhtar al-Bakri and Sahim Alwan of Lackawanna, New York? What about Jeffrey Battle, Patrice Ford, Ahmed Bilal, Muhammad Bilal, and October Lewis of Portland, Oregon? And Mike Hawash? How about Masoud Ahmad Khan, Seifullah Chapman, Yong Ki Kwon, Donald Surratt, and Hammad Abdur-Raheem from the Washington DC area? What about James Ujaama? And Iyman Faris?

The Associated Press notes that a federal court sentenced Khan, Chapman and Abdur-Raheem to life in prison, 85 years and eight years respectively--and it did so yesterday, the very day Krugman's column appeared in the Times.

No question: Paul Krugman is the worst former Enron adviser in history.
