I know a good number of Columbus TownHall folk are self-described Libertarians. What I'd like to know is...do you agree with Robert Butler on foreign policy issues? Do you share his paranoia, and his clear (pathological) dislike of the Bush Administration?
If so, let's hear from you. If not...why is this man your representative? He's making you look very bad in the eyes of mainstream Conservatives. Granted, Robert Butler has every right to his personal opinions, but he is the leader of the Ohio Libertarian Party. Does he speak for your party and, if not, why do you tolerate this?

While I am no libertarian, I will say I'm getting really tired of his whining about being persecuted.
Robert, I'd strongly suggest you go to Amazon.com and order a book titled
"How to win friends and influence people"
. But don't just order it,
READ IT
and try taking it to heart. I believe it was written by Earl Nightengale but it's been a long time and I may have the wrong Author.

Didn't Dale Carnegie write that book? I read it many years ago...a must read for any salesman, and an excellent commentary on human nature.

You're right dain, it was Dale Carnegie. It's been awhile since I read the book (As Mr. Butler should).
Persecution complexes don't go very far in the game of winning friends and influencing people, IMHO.

Do you agree with all Republican policies and initiatives? Of course there are divergent views among Libertarians, just as there are among Reps and Dems. Though I am a "self-described" Libertarian, I am not anti-government nor am I anti-Bush. I am pro individual choice.

Thank you, G3Buckeye. I appreciate the feedback. Of course I don't agree with everything the Republicans do, but then again I'm not the official spokesman for the Ohio GOP. Mr. Butler is, and his opinions reflect on all those who belong to the LP (or claim to be Libertarian).
Don't you think you need a more circumspect organizer?

Not sure, Dain, that anyone could fit that bill. What you're proposing is star alignment and we both know that is not going to happen.
RB is a bomb-thrower, for sure. But just as Bush cannot appropriately represent the essence of every Republican in America, RB (or anyone else) can not represent the essence of every Lib in Ohio.
Thousands have died to preserve the freedom that permits us to post our opinions here. For that (nonpartisan right) I am grateful. And I am thankful that we ARE different. Because it makes us all think about what we stand for and what will stand against.
In any case, we should respect each others' right to individual choice and I respectfully submit to your right not to agree with me.

Hey, G3Buckeye, no problem. Just so long as you understand that I'm pretty good at throwing bombs back
As far as respecting the right to disagree, I do...all have their right to an opinion, but they do not have a right to their own private facts. And when RB engages in BS, I'm gonna say so.
And...he does make a rather tiny, struggling party look like it deserves to be tiny and struggling. Not exactly the qualities I would have chosen in someone running membership drives

Hmm...a 6 o'clock lockdown here at the "home" -- and it's darn hard to steal the keys!
Seriously, I intend to come to a meetup pretty soon -- I look forward to matching faces and opinions

So long as certain faces don't look like their opinions sound, right?
Sorry everybody, couldn't help myself. I'm sure you all have either great opinions or great faces.
